Terms of Use

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using Plotluck at joinplotluck.com, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Plotluck.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Plotluck.
• Give accurate information, keep your password private, and use one account per person.
• You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using it.

3. Your content

You own what you post: posts, replies, club descriptions and anything else you add. By posting, you give Plotluck permission to store, display and share it with the people allowed to see it (for example, members of your club) for as long as it’s on Plotluck. This permission ends when you delete it, except for copies in backups that expire on their own.

Only post things you have the right to share. Short quotes from books for discussion are fine; whole chapters are not.

4. House rules

Don’t use Plotluck to:

• harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against anyone
• post hateful, sexually explicit, violent or illegal content
• share someone else’s private information without permission
• spam, scam, or advertise without the host’s okay
• pretend to be someone you’re not
• post pirated books or other material that breaks copyright
• break into accounts, overload the site, or scrape it with bots

And please: tag your spoilers with the right chapter. 🛡️

5. Hosting a club

• Hosts decide who joins, what to read, and how their club runs, as long as they follow these terms.
• Hosts are responsible for the meetings they schedule. Plotluck doesn’t organize, check or supervise meetups. Use good judgment when meeting people in person, and meet in public places when you can.
• Hosts can remove posts and members from their clubs.

6. Other services

Plotluck links to other services, like Google Maps for directions and Zoom, Google Meet or FaceTime for video calls, and shows book information from Open Library or Google Books. Those services have their own terms, and we’re not responsible for them.

7. Removing content and accounts

We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. You can stop using Plotluck anytime, and ask us to delete your account at hello@joinplotluck.com.

8. No guarantees

Plotluck is provided “as is” and “as available.” We don’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that content posted by members is accurate.

9. Limits on our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows, Plotluck isn’t responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, for what members post or do, or for anything that happens at meetings. If we are found responsible for something, our total responsibility is limited to $100 or what you paid us in the past year, whichever is more.

10. Changes and the law

We may update these terms as Plotluck grows. If changes are important, we’ll update the date above and let members know. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA.
